The emulsion ATRP using CuBr/dNbpy as the mediating complex and the cores of the stars as the multifunctional ATRP initiator has been carried out for the polymerization of various acrylic monomers such as n-butyl acrylate (n-BA), methylmethacrylate (MMA), 2-hydoxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA). The well-defined star polymers synthesized by environmentally benign route were characterized and evaluated their mechanical and adhesive properties potentially to be used as acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). |
