Linear, segmented polyetherurethane (SPEU) is known as a copolymer with a distribution of hard- and soft-segment blocks. There are various ranges of chemical, physical and biocompatible properties depending on the portion of the hard and soft phases. In addition, the SPEU is also considered as one of the most tissue and blood compatible materials accepted as vascular graft replacements today. In this study, we attempted to apply the semi-microporous PTMEG 1000-based SPEU surface with human microvascular endothelial cells (HMVECs), and examined HMVECs proliferation on the surfaces. In addition, the surface modification of the SPEU with collagen, which increases cell attachment, was examined. The tensile strength test was carried out to check the mechanical property. The compliance was estimated by using Young's Modulus. Cell attachment and proliferation of HMVEC seeded SPEU was determined by DNA quantities. |
