제목 Surface Modified Quantum Dots for Electronic Applications
초록 Microelectronic and organic photovoltaic devices deal with the properties of nanometer thin films. The efficiency of these films in turn depends on the morphology and interfacial properties of such films. The physical manipulation of materials on nanometer scale can be done using techniques like AFM. However these techniques are extremely expensive and time consuming to be considered for large scale application. Recently there have been many efforts to control the microstructure of nanocrystals(NCs) by designing phase formation of ligated NPs, or thermal- and photo-responsive processes. Described here are the synthesis, functionalization and application of semiconductor NPs. Two different strategies have been employed for achieving photopatternability. One involves a light induced precipitation driven by the cleavage of the ligand and the second involves a radical polymerization mechanisms. These materials have been employed in applications like photodetectors and EL devices.
