제목 Nanorod coated pectin microgel
초록 Pectin, a structural heteropolysaccharide mainly found in the primary cell walls of terrestrial plants, has been widely used in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic areas. Pectin can be ionically crosslinked into hydrogels having network structures of rod-like phases. In this research, nanorods are successfully revealed on the surface of pectin hydrogel particles. Pectin solution was first prepared in an acidic condition with heating and stirring, and mixed with calcium chloride solution. Pectin hydrogels are precipitated by adding acetone using soxhelt extractor. After drying, nanorods were obviously observed ac the surfaces of particles. The length and diameter ranged from 500 to several microns and from 100 to 300 nm, each. The resulted powder appeared to have similar internal structures as pectin hydrogels, which was confirmed by XRD. The pectin nanorods exposure process is predicted to provide different properties from the normal pectins, such as different bioadhesion behavior, and surface properties characteristics.
