Synthesis of high molecular weight star PMMA via ARGET ATRP |
초록 |
Using activators regenerated by electron transfer (ARGET) is not just another way to initiate an atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) but is a new way to reduce concentrations of catalyst in the system. In this study, high molecular weight three-armed star poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) was successfully synthesized by ARGET ATRP. 1,3,5-Tris(2-bromoisobutyryloxy)benzene was used as a trifunctional initiator and the polymerization was carried out with CuBr2/PMDETA/Sn(EH)2 as a catalytic system at 90℃. The molecular structure of three-armed star PMMAs was confirmed using SEC-MALLS. |
