제목 Synthesis of high molecular weight star PMMA via ARGET ATRP
초록 Using activators regenerated by electron transfer (ARGET) is not just another way to initiate an atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) but is a new way to reduce concentrations of catalyst in the system. In this study, high molecular weight three-armed star poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) was successfully synthesized by ARGET ATRP. 1,3,5-Tris(2-bromoisobutyryloxy)benzene was used as a trifunctional initiator and the polymerization was carried out with CuBr2/PMDETA/Sn(EH)2 as a catalytic system at 90℃. The molecular structure of three-armed star PMMAs was confirmed using SEC-MALLS.
