제목 High speed fabricating technology of water-based cathode in LIB manufacturing applied by dewatering concept
초록 It is common to manufacture anode slurry with aqueous solvent in LIB, while it is not familiar with fabricating water-based cathode slurry. Organic solvent has been widely used in fabricating cathode slurry though it has the environmental and economic issues. Although there are many who tried to use water as the solvent, it still remains lots of problems such as poor dispersion, aqueous reaction with the active material, and improper substrate/slurry wetting. To overcome these problems, we suggest a novel manufacturing process of LIB which is based on dewatering concept. The novel process has the advantages of short time scale of water exposure with the active materials and uniform coating edge in addition to cost effectiveness. It will be another option that the aqueous processing of LIB could be realized in battery manufacturing in near future.
