We studied on the high selective sensing of Fe3+ with metal complex-functionalized mesoporous silica materials in water. Metal complex-functionalized mesoporous silica materials were synthesized on the mesopore surface of SBA-15 via complexation process between Eu2+ and aminosilane groups. Mesoporous silica, SBA-15 and Eu complex-functionalized SBA-15 was ascertained by XRD, TEM, BET and FTIR for the well-retained mesostructure and the functionalized Eu complex. Selective sensing of Eu complex-functionalized SBA-15 carried out using various metal ions (Fe3+, Cu2+, Cr3+, Co2+, Hg2+, Pb2+, Zn2+) aqueous solutions. Photoluminescence intensity (λ=612 nm) of Eu complex-functionalized SBA-15 was deceased with the different interaction between metal ions and Eu complexes. Photoluminescence intensity at λ=612 nm of Eu complex-functionalized SBA-15 was deceased to near zero with Fe3+ showing high selective sensing effect. |
