In this talk, the various synthetic methods for microporous organic polymers (MOPs) will be presented. First, the synthesis of MOPs with tailored functionalities will be introduced. Using the designed building blocks, tandem synthetic approach, post synthetic approach, the various functional MOPs can be prepared. Second, the unexpected discovery of shape evolution of MOPs will be discussed. Especially, the observation of hollow MOP materials will be introduced. Third, the shape engineering of MOPs will be introduced. Through kinetic control of MOP growth or template synthesis, the outer shape of MOPs can be controlled. Fourth, based on the MOP chemistry, the synthesis of organic-inorganic composite materials and their applications for the energy storage and environmental technologies will be presented. |
