Recently, we reported on the continuous anti-corrosive SCWO reactor system, which installed a ceramic tube into a reactor. By controlling temperature and pressure, the supercritical zone is floated at the middle of the reactor and the reaction occurs only inside the ceramic tube. We experiment decomposition 2-chlorophenol with zirconium 702 metal coupon at 2 hours reaction, and at high concentration 2-chlorophenol. We acquired decomposition and corrosion data for scale up this anti-corrosive SCWO reactor system. Corrosion phenomena data was investigated at the supercritical conditions and Zirconium 702 was selected as tested materials. AES-SAM was used to conduct the surface chemical analysis. Oxygen penetration in the alloy was found at supercritical conditions and the penetration depth was deeper at high concentration reaction. |
