Poly(butylenes succinate) biocomposites reinforced with hardwood or seaweed with varying reinforcement contents were subjected to dynamic mechanical and thermal analysis. Biocomposites were prepared by pulverized thermoplastic biodegradable polymer, poly(butylene succinate) with hardwood fiber(HWP) and bleached red algae fiber(BRAF). Dynamic mechanical and thermal properties of biocomposites with varying fiber contents were analyzed and compared to PBS matrix. While the storage modulus of the biocomposite reinforced with HWP shows the highest value with 40wt% fiber loading, BRAF/PBS biocomposite shows the highest dynamic mechanical properties with 50wt% fiber loading. Also, we investigated the relationship between thermal property and fiber loadings in terms of developing the thermal stability of biocomposites. |
