The effects of the addition of sodium salts of dimer acids (DA) on the dynamic mechanical properties of poly(styrene-co-methacrylate) PSMANa and poly(methyl methacrylate-co-methacrylate) PMMAMANa ionomers were studied using a dynamic mechanical analyzer. In the case of PSMANa ionomer, two glass transitions were found. With increasing DA salt amount, ionic plateau shifted to slightly higher position. However, the matrix and cluster Tgs of the ionomer did not change. In the case of PMMAMANa ionomer, only a cluster transition Tg was observed. With increasing DA salt amount, ionic modulus decreased slightly. However, the cluster Tgs of the ionomer did not change. |
