In this study, cationic gemini surfactants were synthesized by synthesizing triethylamine with alkyl 2-chloroacetate that alkyl chain lengths between C10 and C16. It was confirmed by FT-IR and 1H-NMR analysis to confirm the synthesis of the product. The surface tension of the synthetic surfactant compound along the chain length between C10 and C16 was measured and the critical micelle concentration was calculated. In addition, emulsification properties, foaming properties and cell stability of synthetic compounds were measured to evaluate the properties according to chain length. It was found that the synthesized surfactant could be used as a surfactant through physical property evaluation. |
