Polymer solar cells (PSCs) have recently attracted significant research interest because of their unique advantages, which include the facile manufacture of low cost, flexibility, lightweight, and solution processibility. Recently, high-performance polymer solar cells made from a mixture of poly(2,7-carbazole) derivatives, PCDTBT, and [6,6]-phenyl C71 butyric acid methyl ester (PC70BM) have been reported, with maximum power conversion efficiency of 6.1%. In this work, we report bulk-heterojunction polymer solar cells based on binary and ternary blends systems. The effects of ternary or binary mixing on optical, electrochemical, charge carrier mobility and polymer solar cell performance of the resulting polymers were investigated systematically. Detailed synthesis, characterization results, and device characteristics will be discussed in this presentation. |
