The widespread applications of quantum dots(QDs) have spurred an increasing interest in the study of their coating ligands, which can protect the electronic structures of the central quantum dots. In this work, the effect of organic ligands on the optical properties of CdSe QDs was studied. We have studied the synthesis and characterization of CdSe QDs with organic lignads such as butyric(C4), hexanoic(C6), octanoic(C8), dodecanoic(C12), myristic(C14), palmitic(C16), stearic(C18) respectively. This work achieved about 85% quantum yield with 43 nm full-width-half maximum value, using dodecanoic acid as the capping ligands. X-ray diffraction(XRD) was taken to analyze the crystallinity and crystal phases of CdSe QDs. Also, UV-Vis. spectroscopy and photoluminescence spectroscopy(PL) were taken to investigate the absorbance and emission characteristics of the CdSe QDs for each ligand used for comparison. |
