제목 Structural design of bimodally-porous alumina adsorbent for Congo red
초록 Alumina is one of the most important inorganic materials, which widely used as a catalyst, catalytic support, and adsorbent. Its performance in these applications depends on its crystal structure, textural properties, and morphology. For the application, porous alumina has been investigated to maximize its surface area through various synthetic methods such as scaffolding and nanocasting. However, most of these methods are hard to control the pore size due to complex and cost-ineffective multi-steps.
In this study, we synthesized an ordered bimodally-porous alumina to produce mesopore and macropore in a separately-controllable manner via facile solvent-deficient hydrolysis method. The bimodally-porous alumina was proved to be a good material as an adsorbent to remove organic dye, originating from its high surface area and the enhanced mass transport.
