제목 Electrorheological characteristics of monodisperse carbon nanotubes coated polymeric microspheres
초록 Monodisperse polymer particles coated by CNTs were prepared, and applied to ER fluid. CNTs and particles were functionalized by the chemical oxidation method, and by incorporating GMA, respectively. The epoxy ring of the glycidyl groups on the particles was transformed to amine groups. Then the carboxylic acid groups on the CNTs and the amine groups were reacted. CNTs coated polymeric microspheres were examined by SEM, FT-IR and thermal analysis. ER properties of the CNTs coated microspheres were measured under various electric fields. Although the small amount of CNTs was anchored on the surface, good ER properties were obtained.
