Environmental effect on the stability and performance of organic thin-film transistors |

For commercial applications of organic devices, the characteristics and stability of organic materials are very important. But the organic materials stability in ambient condition still remains to be solved. In order to solve this problem, many papers have been published. Recent Studies on the ambient stability of OTFTs prove that some particular gases such as oxygen and water molecule affect the characteristic of devices substantially. Based on studies which reported recently, we report the electronic characteristics of OTFTs under condition on pressure, oxygen, relative humidity and temperature. We demonstrate that the electrical performance of device should not be seriously affected in vacuum condition and oxygen atmosphere. In contrast, the performance of device is significantly degraded in ambient condition. |
