In order to reduce manufacturing time and to improve power conversion efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), dye and co-adsorbent were electrophoretically deposited on TiO2 surface. A mixed solution of N719 dyes and BEHS was prepared, and the TiO2-coated FTO glass as a working electrode and Pt sheet as a counter electrode were immersed into the solution. By the application of a constant voltage, the dye and BEHS anions were moved to the TiO2 surface, and then co-adsorbed under the electric field. The resulting electrodes were applied to the photoelectrodes of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), and their photovoltaic performance was investigated. It was found that co-adsorption of dye and BEHS group by electrophoresis led to an enhancement in power conversion efficiency of DSSCs. |
