제목 Structure-Activity Relationship by Electronic Alteration at para-Position Aryloxide Ligand in Half-Metallocene Titanium Complexes: Synthesis, Characterization, and Catalytic Activities of para-Substituted Aryloxide (R= F, Cl, H, Me, i-Pr, t-Bu, OMe) Cp*Ti(IV)
초록 The attachment of electron-donating or electron-withdrawing aryl groups to the 4-position of the 2-phenylaryloxide ligand via Suzuki coupling was achieved. Corresponding half-titanocene complexes were prepared by reacting the electron-donating or electron-withdrawing aryl group ligands with Cp*TiCl3. Electronic alteration was confirmed by means of cyclic voltammogram (CV), revealing a close correlation between reduction potentials and electron-donating and withdrawing substituents. A successful tuning in the catalytic activity of polymerization of ethylene was achieved: the catalytic activity was found to correlate with the Hammett constant of the respective substituents, providing a powerful strategy for prediction of the catalytic activity of new polyolefin catalyst.
