Solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs) are of particular interest because of their improved dendrite resistance and non-flammability. Polysiloxane with extremely high free volumes is expected to be good Li+ ion transport when polar units are introduced onto the polymer backbone. The incorporation of polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane(POSS) to SPEs can control the crystallinity of SPEs and improve the thermal stability, mechanical properties and flammability resistance. Polymethylhydrosiloxane(PMHS) was cross linked with octa-vinyl POSS by hydrosilylation reaction. Octa-vinyl POSS allows us to tune the network structures in a large scale by chainging molecular weight of PMHS. In this study, octa-vinyl POSS was synthesized by hydrolytic condensation of vinyltrimethoxysilane. PMHS, when doped with LiTFSI, showed very high conductivity at room temperature and contributed to the high flexibility of the siloxane backbone. |
