제목 Synthesis and properties of vinylidene fluoride-based antibacterial elastomer
초록 Fluoroelastomers are receiving great attentions in various fields such as automotive, air transportation, chemical processing industries, and power generation owing to their outstanding properties. Particularly, their low surface energy and higher biocompatibility have recently arouse great interest in medical and health care fields. However, the only problem is that the hydrophobic character can multiply bacteria rapidly giving rise to the biofilm formation, which is extremely fatal to the human body. Therefore, this presentation suggests fluoropolymer elastomers with outstanding antibacterial properties. These polymers are prepared by incorporating quaternary ammonium groups into VDF based-copolymers through a simple modification method. It is believe that our strategy and following outcomes can open new horizons for biomedical device.
