Thecorrosion protection is important in terms of long term stability of metalbased marine crafts. The PVDF have good processibility and stability when usedas coating material for corrosion protection. However, the hydrophobicity of PVDFneed to be improved for better corrosion protection. The PVDF were dissolved insolvent and coated on the iron plate. To improve hydrophobicity of PVDF film,plasma fluorination was conducted. The chemical composition and roughness ofPVDF film was tested with XPS and AFM. The hydrophobicity was evaluated withwater contact angle measurement. The corrosion protection ability of pristineiron plate, PVDF coated iron plate, and the PVDF coated iron plate with plasmafluorination was evaluated by soaking under NaCl solution. The enhancement ofcorrosion protection ability by plasma fluorination was observed. |
