Polylactide/Poly(ethyleneoixde)/claynanocomposites prepared by melt blending: structure and some physical properties |

Polylactide (PLA)/ Poly(ethyleneoixde)(PEO)/clay nanocomposites containing5 wt % clay were prepared by melt blending. We investigated the morphology and thermal properties of the nanocomposites and compared them with pure PLA, keeping the same thermomechanical history. The investigations were performed with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). XRD showed that the good affinity between the clay and the PEO was sufficient to form intercalated structure in the nanocomposite. |
