제목 A photoelectrode using ZnO coated TiO2 nanoparticles to reduce the charge recombination in dye-sensitized solar cells
초록 To reduce dark current due to charge recombination at TiO2/electrolyte interface, TiO2 nanoparticles was modified by thin ZnO layer (~10 nm) using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. This implies that the energy level for electron injection is decreased after ZnO covering on the surface of TiO2 nanoparticles, which increases the driving force for electron injection. In addition, part of the TiO2 surface is covered by ZnO, which blocks surface states and hence reduces the rate constant for the reduction of triiodide. This modification effectively reduced charge recombination and improved the DSSC conversion efficiency from 4.4% to 4.7% compared to bare TiO2. The films were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, impedance and absorption spectra.
