We study a gas sensor that detects ammonia (NH3) gas based on organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) using indacenodithiophene-co-benzothiadiazole (IDTBT) polymer. The high field effect mobility of 0.5 cm2/V∙s for the holes is achieved by optimizing the bottom-gate top-contact OFETs based on polyimide as a dielectric. The sensor shows the change in the electric characteristic such as the threshold voltage, drain current and charge carrier mobility when the sensor is exposed in 1000ppm NH3 gas. In addition, to reduce the operational and environmental degradation of gas sensor in the air, additive is inserted in the IDTBT polymer microstructure. We can investigate the mechanism of the sensor. |
