원료 Propane
생산물 propylene
적용 To produce C3-C5 mono-olefins from their iso or normal paraffins using the Catofin process.
설명 Description: The single-stage catalytic system selectively dehydrogentes LPG paraffins using parallel, regenerative heat-exchange reactors. With some reactors onstream, others are automatically reheated and decoked. Each reactor onstream is a heat source for the endothermic dehydrogenation reaction, enabling once-through conversions of 60 to 70% and selectivities of up to 95 mol%.
The diagram for propylene applies also to the other mono-olefins. Single component or mixed feed is heated to contacting catalyst (1). The effluent is compressed (2) and liquid product recovered (3) and purified (4). Unconverted LPGs are recycled.
The unit is fully controlled by a cycle timer. Catofin catalysts are base metal, rugged pellets.

Operating conditions: The heat required for the endothermic reaction during the onstream period is stored during catalyst regeneration. Reaction conditions are within the following ranges:

Temperature, ℉
Pressure, in. HG absolute
1,000 - 1,250
5 - 20

Yields: When making propylene or butylenes, yields of olefin from paraffin are 80 to 90 wt %.
