적용 To produce polycapromide (Nylon 6) chips by polymerizing caprolactam monomer using EMS-Inventa's VK-tube method.
설명 Description: In the presence of water, stabilizers and modifying additives (1), caprolactam monomer is continuously polymerized (2,3). Prepolymerization is available for large units to reduce reactor volumes and improve product quality.
   The raw polymer melt is extruded (4) into strands and cut into granules.These chips (5) contain approximately 8% of monomers and oligomers which are removed by hot water in an extraction column (6). After dewatering of the extracted chips they are dried in a two-stage column system (7,8,9) by hot and dry nitrogen.
   The relative viscosity of the final chips can be varied according to requirements from 2.5 through 3.4 and up to 7.0 when solidstate post condensation conditions are applied to the drying stage.
   The instrumentation of this process allows fully automatic operation with a minimum of supervising personnel. Capacities up to 60 tpd have been realized.
   A variety of recovery process routes for the recycling of extractables (monomer and oligomers) from polymerization and polymer waste from textile sections help to cut raw material costs.
   Chips from the above mentioned process are a successful feedstock for the application in all textile process, especially the new single-stage H4S process for the manufacture of flat textile filament yarn developed by EMS-Inventa AG.
   Batch and continuous process steps are available to fit all requirements regarding polymer grades, flexibility of output and plant size. Special efforts are given to th plant design to achieve lowest material, energy and personnel costs.
