Preparation of exfoliated ABS/Layered Silicate Nanocomposites and the size effect of clays. |
초록 |
ABS/Na-MMT nanocomposites were synthesized through and emulsion polymerization. In the present of laponite one can synthesize stable ABS/clay nanocomposite emulsion. Laponite shows good efficiency to stabilize emulsion particle during polymerization. Electrostatic repulsion force originated from negative charge of clay and surfactant contributes to the stabilization mechanism. Laponite works as barrier by residing on synthesized emulsion particles preventing polymerized emulsion particle to coagulate. Laponite is more likely to reside on the polymerized emulsion particles relative to Na-MMT because Na-MMT has large aspect ratio and stiffness. Laponite increase viscosity of polymerized emulsion system and it reduce the mobility of polymerized emulsion particle to slow coagulation as thickener due to the dissociated large surface area. |
