In this experiment, an ionic liquid (BMIMBF4) was used to prepare a composite membrane containing ZnO nanoparticles. Our previous study indicated that a composite membrane composed of ZnO and BMIMBF4 showed high CO2/N2 separation performance with a GPU of 101 and a selectivity of 42.1. The oxide layer of ZnO nanoparticles with the imidazolium ring of BMIMBF4 increased the solubility of CO2 and acted as a barrier for N2, leading to an overall improvement in the performance. However, the liquid film absorbed the solution over time and thickened, leading to instability. In order to solve this problem, a solid polymer composite film was manufactured and investigated as a possible solution. In this study, the polymer PEBAX-2533 was used as a polymer matrix to produce a composite membrane capable of both high separation performance and long-term stability. |
