Excess enthalpy as well as phase equilibrium is one of the most important properties in the process design and simulation. There have been a lot of good experimental data and prediction methods for phase equilibrium but it is not the case for excess enthalpy. Although there have been various methods of different types to predict it, they are currently used with their own limitation in the application ranges. Actually, it is more difficult to get the good data of excess enthalpy than that of phase equilibrium. In this paper, we present the new method to predict both excess enthalpy and vapor-liquid phase equilibrium(VLE) well. The nonrandom lattice-hole based equation of state(NRLH-EOS) proposed by You et al.(1994), which has the sound theoretical background and is applicable to wide ranges of mixtures and conditions, was used. The excess enthalpy calculated by this lattice-hole EOS were compared with experimental data for hydrocarbon mixtures.
