제목 Immobilization of Catechol-Functionalized Polymer Nanoparticles onto Ti Surfaces for Controlled BMP-2 Release
초록 Surface engineering with bioactive agents has been widely utilized to promote the performance of medical devices. In particular, the surface immobilization of nanocontainers that can control the release of bioactive molecules has emerged as a promising technique. Herein, we report on a novel nanoparticle bearing Ti-adhesive catechol moieties on its outer periphery. The nanoparticles were prepared by the self-assembly of catechol-terminated polyaspartate-b-polyphenylalanine. The nanoparticles could be successfully immobilized onto Ti surfaces by a simple dipping process without the pre-treatment of Ti surfaces. Their immobilization density could be controlled by adjusting the nanoparticle concentrations. Furthermore, the loading capacity and sustainable release of BMP-2 could be controlled by adjusting the immobilization ratio of nanoparticles. The Ti-adhesive nanoparticle can find many utilities as a surface releasing system for medical devices including stents and dental implants.
