Our study was focused on the tight immobilization of cell-derived extracellular matrix (ECM) on cobalt-chromium (Co-Cr) surface. Fibronectin (FN) has several domains capable of binding ECM components such as collagen, heparin, and fibrin. FN layer was introduced on the surface in order to firmly immobilize ECM components. However, FN bound on Co-Cr surface was unstable to effectively hold ECM molecules. For the preparation of more stable FN layer on the Co-Cr surface, polydopamine (pDA), a well-known strong adhesive molecule, was utilized. As a result, It was shown that the pDA and FN-coated surface could tightly hold ECM layer even after decellularization. |
