제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Poly(lactic acid)s via Direct Polycodensation of Lactic acid
초록 Poly (lactic acid) is bio-degradable polymer, which is widely used in biomedical and pharmacological sectors. Recently, PLAs are reconsidered as commercially significant polymer because these are well known for the use of biomedical implants and drug delivery materials, ascribed to their good degradability, biocompatibility, safety and mechanical strength. Until recently, PLA has been synthesized via a ring opening polymerization of cyclic diester of lactic acid known as latcide by a multi-step procedure in which intermediate production and synthesis is a hectic problem. In present work, we successfully synthesized the high-molecular-weight PLA by direct polycondensation in solution in the presence of “stannous chloride dihydrate” and methanesulfonic acid. When synthesis performed under suitable conditions and the solution was kept dehydrated azeotropically and bi-catalytic system was used in organic solvent, Mv. molecular weight obtained  was 10.3 × 104 g/mol.
