The design of highly sensitive and selective molecular sensory materials having easily detectable recognition events is of great interest in chemical, biological, and pharmaceutical sciences. To this end, fluorescence-based sensors have received a great deal of attention due to their highly sensitive optical transduction modes including fluorescence intensity modulation, wavelength shifts, or changes in fluoresce lifetime upon analyte binding. In this talk, the photophysical studies of new fluorophores recently developed in our group will be presented, and the design of fluorescent turn-on probes for the detection of biological interesting analytes and their applications in living systems will be demonstrated. |
