제목 | Preparation and Characterization of Epoxy Resin Modified with Thermoplastic Polyphenylene Oxide |
초록 | Epoxy resin has widely been used as a matrix material of the composite laminate for printed circuit board(PCB), and recently the need for matrix resin having a better dielectric property is growing up with the speed-up of electronic goods and telecommunication apparatus. In this study we tried to improve dielectric property of the conventional difunctional DGEBA type epoxy resin, which is mainly used in PCB industry, by the modification with polyphenylene oxide(PPO) which has intrinsically much lower value of dielectric constant than epoxy resin. Three different PPO oligomers with the molecular weight of Mn=1800, 3000 and 7000 g/mol were used, and the concentration of each PPO oligomer was varied in the range of 0 to 50 wt%. As a result we observed that the dielectric property in terms of dielectric constant is improved noticeably by PPO modification, and the improvement is more significant wth the increase of the molecular weight and/or the concentration of PPO modifier. The thermal and mechanical properties are also dicussed. |
