Characterization and Preparation of AntimicrobialPoly(vinyl alcohol) Film Containing Aroma Oils |

Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) as a water soluble polymer useful for drug delivery systems. Antimicrobial film has been conducted for aroma herb extracts mixed with PVA solution. The antimicrobial activity of the film were varified with Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus subtilis. Based on the obtained results indicate the film may be a promising material for food packaging applications. The morphology of the PVA film was investigated by FE-SEM, the mechanical characteristic were measure by UTM. The fragrance persistence of PVA film was examined by GC-MS. |
