Recently, as the demand for mobile displays increases, a lot of research on color filters is being conducted for the development of high-performance displays. In this study, the red cyanine dye for color filter was synthesized and its properties were analyzed. The dye was prepared by coodinating bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion with the dye. The synthesized dye were identified by NMR and mass spectrum analysis. In addition, stability, optical property of the dye were analyzed through TGA and UV spectroscopy, and solubility in industrial solvent was measured. The synthesized dye showed narrow and strong absorption, and exhibited improved stability and solubility compared to conventional cyanine dye because of coordinated bulky counter anion. Furthermore, the color filter was fabricated based on the dye and its properties were investigated. From the results, it is expected that the dye could be one of the promising candidates as a red colorant for the color filter of display. |
