Polydiacetylene (PDA) supramolesules are known to undergo a visible color change from blue to red and a fluorescent change from non-fluorescent to red-fluorescent after responsing various external stimuli. And hydrogels have hydrophilic 3D network chains and can absorb large amounts of water contents and they are responsive to various stimuli for example, pH, temperature and so on. Therefore it is essential to fabricate patterned structures for application in bioengineering or nanotechnology. In this study, we fabricated the sensory structure by embedding PDA supramolecules to poly(ethylene glycol)-diacrylate (PEG-DA) hydrogel to detect three chemical gases and pHs by optical change caused by ionic interaction. Firstly, we found the optimal fabrication condition by controlling volumetric mixture ratio of PEG-DA and PDA supramolecules. Then, we detected ammonia, ethanol, and formaldehyde vapor by optical change of PDA and obtained a color change according to pHs. |
