Pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs), which were applied in the protective film, were prepared based on acrylic copolymers cured with thermal curing agent. The variations in adhesive residue and peel strength of acrylic PSA were studied in terms of crosslinking. Both degree of acrylic PSA residue and peel strength varied depending on the cohesion of the PSAs. In this study, the relationship among cohesion, peel strength, and residue was investigated. Isophorone isocyanate(IPDI), which had –NCO functional group, was used as the effective crosslinking agent for the acrylic PSA. The functional groups in PSAs were characterized with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy in order to investigate the crosslinking with IPDI. The peel strengths of PSAs were measured with a universal testing machine using the glass as a reference adherend. |
