Cellulose is the most abundant and representative bio based polymers, and thus diverse researches have been conducted. When the polymeric materials are prepared in the form of nanofibers, various advantages over conventional film based polymers can be obtained. It is possible to obtain nano to micro size fiber by electrospinning using these celluloses. Cellulose fiber obtained by electrospinning has high hygroscopic property because of large surface area and thus superior performance in various application fields such as wound dressing can be obtained. Furthermore, although there are many studies regarding carbon nanofibers originated from polyacrylonitirle because of benefit on tensile strength, cellulose is also known as good carbon source. In this paper, cellulose nanofibers are prepared by electrospinning and the fibers are characterized by SEM, EDS, and FTIR to find out proper applications of cellulose based nanofibers. |
