Carbon nanotube is a very promising material in thermoelectrics, because of their outstanding electrical property. With minimum amount of carbon nanotubes, an electrical conductive path would be constructed, which is referred as a percolation threshold. Furthermore, in the case of multi-walled carbon nanotube(MWNTs), it is easy to dope nitrogen atoms in MWNTs. Nitrogen doped MWNTs have a larger electrical conductivity than pristine sources of MWNTs. In thermoelectrics, low thermal conductivities are required for a high efficiency of thermoelectric power generation. In order to overcome this phenomenon, we fabricate composite films of MWNTs and conducting polymers, which are expected to show a decrease in thermal conductivity, sustaining their electrical conductivity. In this study, we plan to survey the thermoelectric properties of composite films. In addition, fabricating nitrogen doped MWNTs/conducting polymer composite, we are going to survey their thermoelectric properties. |
