Biofilmsare formed by attachment of microorganism on surface, causing serious problems in public health and industry. Rapid detection is the first control point to prevent problems caused by biofilms. Electrical impedance in terms of capacitance and resistance has been applied in the field of microbiology due to its high sensitivity and no damage on microorganism. This study was aimed to obtain the electrical signals as the information of biofilms using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilmswere grown in the surface of Pt electrode, and the changes of impedancewere observed. The signals of EISwere corresponded with the amount of bacterial cells of biofilms on the surface. |
