제목 Activated carbon electrodes adopting PAN nonwoven separator coated with different polymer gel electrolyte
초록 Supercapactors are attractive for energy storage particularly in applications involving high-power requirements. Gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) is appealing in these devices due to their high ionic conductivity, electrode compactness and environmental friendliness. A nonwoven separators coated with different polymer GPE were fabricated to support and impact mechanical property to the GPEs. The coated separators exhibited ionic conductivity of 4.5x10-2, 4.2x10-2, 1.6x10-2 and 1.4x10-2S/cm for the KOH, PAAK, PVA and PEO coated separators respectively. Supercapacitors were designed with the coated separators. The capacitors were subjected to cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). These superior performance can be attributed to the synergistic effect of the PAN nonwoven separator and the polymer materials which have the ability to hold sufficient water in their polymer chains to enhance the needed ionic conductivity.
