제목 Structural and Energetic Characteristics of Highly Porous Natural Polymer based Activated Carbons by KOH Activation
초록 In this work natural polymer based activated carbons were successfully prepared from mungbean starch by using simple carbonization and potassium hydroxide activation processes. In particular, we investigated the effect of the activating agent/carbon precursor ratio and activation temperature (700–900 °C) on the pore creation on the surface of mungbean starch activated carbons (MSACs). For this purpose, low temperature nitrogen adsorption/desorption studies were carried out to comparatively examine the textural properties including specific surface area, pore volume, and pore size distribution. The energetic heterogeneity of MBACs was also analyzed in terms of adsorption energy distribution functions which can be calculated using a regularization method with nitrogen adsorption data at 77 K. Moreover the surface fractal dimension was calculated using the nitrogen adsorption data with the Frenkel-Halsey-Hill equation to investigate the surface structural roughness.
