Polyamide(PA) oligomers which are hard segment of poly(ether-block-amide)(PEBA) presenting thermoplastic and high performance elastomeric properties were prepared by polycondesation between aromatic or aliphatic diisocyanate, such as methylene diphenyl diisocyanate(MDI), 2,4-toluene diisocyanate(TDI), hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI), and aliphatic dicarboxylic acid. Subsequently PEBAs were obtained by condensation reaction of the PA oligomers and various molecular weight of polytetramethylene glycol(PTMG). The structure of the final PEBA was identified by using FT-IR and 1H-NMR and the thermal properties depending on changes in the structure of hard segment was collected by using DSC analysis. In addition the mechanical properties of the PEBAs having different molecular weight and structure of PA oligomer were compared with the stress-strain curves of those PEBAs. |
