As the concern of the infectious diseases increases due to the COVID-19, the demand for antimicrobial technology is increasing. In this work, the copper nanoparticles (NPs) which are inorganic antimicrobial materials were synthesized by the chemical reduction method. The antimicrobial activities of the NPs were evaluated by the dry rehydratable film method. As the concentration of NaOH increased, Cu and CuxO NPs were synthesized. The properties of synthesized NPs were analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis. Crystal structures of the NPs were confirmed by XRD patterns. And the morphologies of the octahedron, sphere were observed in the SEM images. Especially, at the highest concentration of NaOH, indefinable morphology of NPs was obtained. The highest antimicrobial activity was Cu2O NPs of the octahedral morphology. |
