제목 Silver Nanoshell Biosensors for SERS-based Biomarker Detection
초록 It is of importance to detect protein biomarkers in blood in a sensitive and multiplexed manner for the early and accurate diagnosis of diseases. Herein, we report an approach for the synthesis of silver nanoshells (AgNSs) as surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) nanoprobes for the multiplex and sensitive detection of the biomarkers specific for Alzheimer’s disease (AD). AgNSs rapidly formed on the surface of silica nanoparticles without pre-deposition of seed metals. As-prepared AgNSs were very uniform in size (100 nm), and had 2 nm of nanogaps. AgNSs exhibited strong SERS signals with an enhancement factor of 1.7x107. The antibody-conjugated AgNSs were applied for the sensitive and multiplex detection of AD biomarkers, including Aβ40 and Aβ42. It was found that the AgNS probe was able to detect the target proteins at the concentration as low as 100 fg/mL.
