Silver nanowire-based flexible and transparent electrodes have been continuously developed as an alternative to ITO electrode, achieving high transparency and electrical conductivity. Here, we show how to easily pattern silver nanowire-based transparent electrodes by adjusting the adhesion. Specifically, we selectively created hydrophilic areas on hydrophobic substrates. After coating silver nanowires on the entire surface, they were separated from the substrate with UV curable polymer. Since the adhesion between the nanowires and hydrophilic surface region was strong, the silver nanowires on the hydrophilic region remained on the substrate. However, the nanowires on the hydrophobic area embedded to UV curable polymer and were separated from the substrate due to weak adhesion, resulting in two silver nanowire patterns: one on the UV curable polymer and the other on the hydrophobic flexible substrate. Both achieved high power-conversion efficiency in organic solar cell applications. |
