PVdf(poly(vinylidene fluoride)) separators for lithium ion battery were prepared and characteristic was investigated by SEM, UTM, TGA, EDS. The separators were prepared by phase inversion with different ratio of additive, concentration of polymer, evaporation time. And the differences between PVdf separator and commercial separator(Celgard) were investigated. The results show that decreased evaporation time and increased hydrophilic additive(EPTBP) in the solution increased porosity and uptake as forming porous structure. However because of formed macro pores, the mechanical properties were decreased. TGA graph confirmed thermal gravity properties of remained additive in the separator. Additive remained in the separator matrix confirmed by EDS because of prohibited diffusion to coagulation bath. It expected better effect to ion conductivity. These results confirmed that the PVdf separator has possibility to substitute commercial separator. |
