Norbornene is a cyclohexene bridged with a methylene group in the paraposition. Polynorborenes synthesized by ring-opening metathesis polymerization(ROMP) are highly transparent. But, other properties such as thermal stability, coefficient of thermal expansion are not enough to apply to some applicants including flexible substrates. In this work, to increase thermal properties, polynorbornene functionalized with imide moieties were hybrided using inorganic materials. We Synthesized exo-N-(4-chlorophenylnorbornene)-5,6-dicarboxyimide (MCPhNDI) and exo-N-(3,5-dichlorophenylnorbornene)-5,6-dicarboxyimide (DCPhNDI) and their compolymers via ROMP using ruthenium catalysts. Then surface modified sepiolite by 3-aminopropyltriethoxy-silane (3-APTES) was mixed with each of the polynorbornene copolymers to prepare hybrid films. Various properties of these hybrid films were characterized by NMR and FT-IR spectroscopie, and thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), etc. |
